From the San Fernando Valley to all 88 cities of Los Angeles County

We are based in Canoga Park, in the west San Fernando Valley, and the same phone number serves all 88 incorporated cities of Los Angeles County: the Valley and Santa Clarita, Malibu and the coast, the basin, the South Bay, the San Gabriel Valley, the Antelope Valley and Catalina. Seven places get their own page, starting with the Valley side of Los Angeles and the cities just west and north of it. The other 81 appear as lighter shapes on the county map and as names in the index below, and they get the same 24-hour emergency response.

Los Angeles County was one of California's original 27 counties, established on February 18, 1850. It now spans 4,084 square miles with nearly 10 million residents and 88 incorporated cities, from Los Angeles, the first, to Calabasas, the newest, which incorporated on April 5, 1991, and more than 65 percent of its land is unincorporated. SoCal Emergency Plumbing San Fernando Valley is based in Los Angeles, CA, in the Canoga Park neighborhood of the west San Fernando Valley, and one line stays open for the whole county day and night: the Valley and the hills around it, Santa Clarita, Malibu, the basin, the San Gabriel Valley, the South Bay and Long Beach, the Antelope Valley and Avalon on Catalina.

The county is big, so here is the honest version. We are based in the west Valley, which puts Woodland Hills or Calabasas close by and Lancaster, Long Beach or an address on Catalina a long way off. We never promise an arrival time we might miss. On the phone, a person tells you how to shut off the water or the gas yourself, and then a plumber is sent to your address.

Seven places get a page here: the Valley side of Los Angeles, Hidden Hills, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Malibu and Santa Clarita. Each page sets out its Census housing figures, its water supplier and the jobs its homes most often need, and they differ more than the map suggests. Every home in Hidden Hills is a detached house, against 36 percent across the City of Los Angeles; 70 percent of Los Angeles housing predates 1980, against 31 percent in Santa Clarita; and water hardness runs from about 6 grains per gallon on Valley aqueduct water to about 21 in Santa Clarita groundwater. The remaining 81 cities get the same work, just without their own page.

Permits are issued city by city across all 88, unless a city contracts with the County, so a water heater in Calabasas goes through Calabasas Building and Safety and one in Canoga Park through LADBS. Westlake Village is the only one of our seven that contracts with LA County Public Works, which also permits unincorporated land through its EPIC-LA system. SoCalGas supplies the gas in all seven, and throughout the County Sewer Maintenance District each house lateral belongs to the property owner along its whole length, the stretch under the street included. Some things hold at every address: a price in writing that you approve before work, the California C-36 plumbing license and $25,000 contractor bond listed on our CSLB record, and a written workmanship warranty on finished repairs.

Look up your city

The county map, one shape for each city

Each shape on this map is one of the 88 cities we serve. The seven shaded darker open their own pages; the rest are listed below the map and get the same work. Santa Catalina Island sits far out to sea, so the map pulls it in closer and sets it inside a dashed frame.

Los Angeles County map showing all 88 cities we serveEvery one of the 88 cities is drawn as a separate shape. A darker shape opens our page for that city; a paler one gets the same service with no page, and the full list of cities sits under the map. Avalon and the rest of Santa Catalina Island appear in the dashed frame at the lower left, moved nearer the coast than they really lie.

How a job runs

The four steps from your first call to a finished job

  1. 1

    Call or send the form

Phone us or use the form on this site. Noon, midnight or a holiday, a person picks up and asks what you see and hear.

  2. 2

    Choose when

You choose the visit time. If water is still getting where it should not, we treat the visit as an emergency.

  3. 3

    Price on paper

The plumber finds the cause and writes down the price. Nothing gets cut open or replaced before your signature is on it.

  4. 4

    Tested and cleaned up

Before the plumber leaves, you watch the repair work. The area gets cleaned, and the old parts go with us.

Leaking now

Somebody answers this phone every hour of every day.

Start by closing the main water valve. In many houses it sits where the supply pipe comes into the building, and there is another at the meter box near the curb. With the water off, phone us and keep the call going: we walk you through what comes next while a plumber sets out from Canoga Park.
